SVA Script Writer’s Workshop
Date/Time: Fridays, 4:30-6:30 pm, starting on September 15
Location: Stone Valley Arts at Fox Hill, 145 E. Main St., Poultney (across from Poultney High School)
Description: The SVA Script Writer’s Workshop is an ongoing, weekly workshop for college-aged on up individuals who wish to hone their skills in writing stage plays and screenplays. The format consists of bringing in ideas for a script or works-in-progress at any stage of development, reading them aloud in a roundtable setting, and discussing the ideas/works. This is not a critiquing group, but fellow writers reflecting upon and encouraging their fellow writers in their individual works. Karen Klami will run the workshop by facilitating the discussions and working individually with each writer within the group, at their own level and experience, to develop and hone their craft. Novices through advanced script writers are welcome.
About Karen: Karen Klami has been teaching in the Castleton University Theatre Department since 2004. Originally from NYC, where she received her MA in Theatre at Hunter College, Karen has been teaching playwrights and screenwriters since the 1990s, has won several awards for her plays and screenplays, and has had several works produced in NYC and Vermont. She presently has six eBooks of her plays, screenplays and poetry available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Cost: A one-time registration fee of $10, plus $5 per class attended.
