Family Friendly Walking Tour: Abenaki Life of the Winoskitegok

Meet in front of the Champlain Mill
Take a step back in time on this free, kid-friendly walk along the Winooski River (also known as the Winoskitegok or Onion River). Discover what life was like for Native Americans in Winooski long before Ira Allen developed the land. Archaeologist Brennan Gauthier will lead the walk and point out historically significant sites. Stops will include child friendly demonstrations and hands-on activities. After the walk, participants are invited to visit the Heritage Winooski Mill Museum in the Champlain Mill. The event takes place rain or shine. Meet in front of the Champlain Mill at 10am.
