Sept. 16, 2017 - 1:30pm: Talk on J.S. Bach and Early Instruments and mini Organ Master Class with Dr. Mark Steinbach of Brown University. He concertizes widely in the USA and Europe and has played at national AGO and OHS conventions. This is a Vt. Chapter, American Guild of Organists event. Please take advantage of this marvelous free opportunity and also invite any other organists or organ students of your acquaintance. The general public would be interested in the talk! Sept. 17, 2017 - 3pm: Annual Dopp Organ Recital to be played by Dr. Mark Steinbach of Brown University. The program includes Buxtehude, Bach, Widor, Vierne, Wang Lu's "Missing Absence" (2016) and much more. Free, but donations support the Dopp Recital Fund. Refreshments will be served. Parking is free in the garage across the street if the attendant is told you are attending an event at the church. The historic E.&G.G. Hook op. 342 was built in 1864 and is the oldest tracker organ in use in Burlington. Church is located at 81 St. Paul St., Burlington.

Sept. 23, 2017 - 7:30 pm: Lynnette Combs, former Organist at First Baptist Church, Burlington, will return from her new post at Christ Church Episcopal in Montpelier, to play our Hook tracker organ (1864) once again. Her program, entitled "Light from Leipzig: J.S.Bach and Composers He Inspired," will include C.P.E.Bach, Hindemith, Mendelssohn, Reger, Brahms, Thayer and Krebs as well JSB. The recital is part of a Sept. tour also visiting Rutland, Montpelier and Bellows Falls. The recital is free but donations are encouraged, to support the Vt. Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. The church is located at 81 St. Paul St. Parking is free in the garage across from the church if the attendant is told you are attending an event at the church.
