The Rethink Runoff team is currently recruiting volunteers for a storm drain stenciling event on Saturday, September 30th!
We will stencil in neighborhoods along Malletts Bay from 9 - 11 am, and rendezvous for a FREE BBQ at Bayside Park to say farewell to summer! In addition to a free lunch, volunteers will learn about Rethink Runoff's stream sampling program and get preliminary data on the ten Chittenden County streams monitored this summer.
Rethink Runoff helps communities consider the impact of stormwater runoff in Chittenden County. Excess water from rain or snowmelt flows over surfaces like driveways, buildings, and streets and picks up pollutants such as oil and grease, chemicals, nutrients, metals and bacteria as it goes. The intention of this stenciling project is to raise awareness that many storm drains convey stormwater directly to local lakes, streams, and rivers.

The Rethink Runoff Stream Team is managed by the Chittenden County Municipal Storm Sewer designated towns and run by the Winooski Natural Resources Conservation District.
