Pedals for Progress: Bike & Sewing Machine Collection

Past event
Sep 23, 2017, 9 AM to 1 PM

The “Green Mountain Returned Peace Corps Volunteers” is once again sponsoring a bike and sewing machine collection to benefit “Pedals for Progress”. “Pedals for Progress (P4P)” is a non-profit organization which was started by a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer in 1991. Bikes and sewing machines are collected and shipped to poor and needy people in developing countries such as Costa Rica, Ghana, Nicaragua, and Uganda. Since 1991 “Pedals for Progress” has collected and shipped over 145,000 bikes and 3000 sewing machines. Locally, we have collected over 3000 bikes and 200 sewing machines.

Used and unwanted bikes, in reasonable condition, and sewing machines in working condition will be collected on Saturday, September 23rd from 9am-1pm. We ask for a $10 donation with each bike/sewing machine to help defray the cost of shipping. No bike? Monetary donations are always welcome. All donations are tax deductible. You can drop off bikes/sewing machines on the 23rd at the old K-Mart Parking Lot in South Burlington. Any questions, call Bob Thompson at (802)881-6629. For more information about “Pedals for Progress” go to www.p4p.org . Thank you for your donation.
