Everyone’s Economic Opportunity in Climate Action – Panel and Conversation

Tuesday, September 12, 6-8pm @ 118 Elliot * Brattleboro, Vermont

A response to the pressing environmental challenge of climate change is urgently needed. It also presents one of the biggest economic development opportunities Vermont and the world has ever seen – if equitable and done right.

Don’t miss a panel discussion and audience-engaged conversation about how Vermont can seize this opportunity. Hear from a respected Vermont business owner, a low income advocate and legislators about the kind of equitable and exciting opportunities climate action provides. Speakers will include:

Representatives Mollie Burke, Valerie Stuart, David Deen and Sarah Copeland-Hanzas (other local legislators still TBD).
Steve Geller, Southeast Vermont Community Action Director
Michael Knapp, founder and CEO of Green River Software

This event is hosted by the Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility and the Vermont Natural Resources Council. Panelists will frame the current context of climate (in)action in Vermont and outline the policy responses they are working to advance to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, grow our economy and ensure all Vermonters benefit from the transition off of fossil fuels. Attendees can offer input, ask questions and find out meaningful ways to engage.

The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments provided. RSVP, submit a question for the panelists in advance, and find more information at: http://bit.ly/2hrcKBB
