Bear Medicine Class with Herbalist Sean Donahue

Past event
Sep 17, 2017, 12 to 7 PM

Wherever humans and bears have lived in close proximity, people and bears have worked with the same medicines, and bears have been connected with the mysteries of what lies in the dark under the earth.

In this workshop, we will explore the root medicines bears dig up in springtime -- Skunk Cabbage, Angelica, and Osha -- and explore the spiritual ecology of bears and the roots they dig. We will also explore the relationship between bear mysteries and the sacred kings of the Celtic world, and what those mythic resonances can tell us about growing an animist culture at the twilight of capitalism.
