Engaging New Citizens in Democracy

COMING UP....Monday, Sept 11, members of the League of Women Voters will be at the State House helping newly sworn-in citizens register to vote following the annual Naturalization Ceremony in Montpelier. The League also hosts a Welcome Reception of cookies and cider for new citizens, their families and friends.

Sixty six individuals from 28 countries will take the Oath of Allegiance to become American citizens and receive Certificates of Naturalization.The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. and runs approximately 1.5 hours. It is both, moving and inspiring.
