A public hearing for the proposed Cambrian Rise development project has been scheduled for Wednesday, September 20th, 2017 from 5:30 PM to 10 PM at the Caldwell Banker Hickok & Boardman Realty building first floor conference room at 346 Shelburne Road, Burlington, VT.
As a proud Burlington resident, I don't see how this development is in line with the Vision Statement in our Community Facilities and Services Plan. "City Services and facilities are managed in order to maximize efficiency and support increased levels of development without degrading the natural environment or unnecessarily burdening the taxpayers – energy, water, land, air, etc – so that they may remain available for future generations". It’s time to ask the Mayor, City Council and the Design Review Board about this. Checkbox permitting does not work for environmentally sensitive land without costly repercussions.
Over the course of the days between today and the upcoming public hearing, Cambrian Watch will be making regular postings on the risks and inconsistencies we see with the Municipal Services Vision Plan.
