As part of a project for the Master Naturalist Program, 3 of us have solicited art for a community art exhibit celebrating Burlington's Urban Wilds. Please stop by Evolution Yoga during the Art Hop to see this exhibit which includes artwork or poetry from these 5 Sisters residents: Melanie Brotz, Isaac Wood-Lewis, Alicia Daniel and myself, as well as 10 others. Also we will be hosting a storytelling event on Sunday, as described below.
Community Storytelling Event: WILD BURLINGTON
Sunday, September 10th
2-3:30pm
Evolution Yoga Studio; 20 Kilburn Street, Burlington
FREE but pre-registration required: Register at https://wildburlingtonstorytellingevent.eventbrite.com/
Join us for an intimate afternoon of shared stories at Evolution Yoga as part of the studio's participation in the South End Art Hop weekend. The storytelling event is being coordinated by Burlington Master Naturalist Program participants and will be held in conjunction with a community art exhibit celebrating the natural landscapes and urban wilds of Burlington.
The storytelling event will be focused on community-generated entertainment, which means that the stories will come from the audience. We hope that a good number of the audience members will be brave enough to slip a piece of paper with their name into the hat o' storytellers; names will be drawn at random throughout the event to generate the order of stories. We encourage you to be creative in the development and delivery of your story - a personal experience, a poem, an original song, etc.: all are welcome as long as they are presented in less than 5 minutes and are on the theme of: WILD BURLINGTON.
