The Brandon Summer Concert Series for 2017, Music at the Riverbed, finishes big this Wednesday evening on the spacious lawn behind the Brandon Inn with a night of Locally Grown Music:
At 6PM, enjoy the crowd-favorite winners of the Battle of the Bands from this June's Brandon Carnival, The Threatles, a Beatles cover band, encompassing all music from the era of the Fab Four. Featuring three siblings from Orwell: Faith Holzhammer on lead guitar and vocals, Jeremy Holzhammer on rhythm guitar, vocals, and harmonica, and Joy Holzhammer on drums, vocals, and percussion.
At 7PM, Cedar Shakes caps our free concert season in style. What is a Cedar Shake? The band says: Start with a basic blues progression. Season with liberal doses of rock and bluegrass. Throw in a couple of dashes of punk to taste. Mix for 3 to 5 minutes. Band members are Marty Fjeld on lead vocals and guitar, Doug Ross on lead guitar and vocals, and Wade Davis on bass and vocals.
You know the drill: Free admission, free music, free popcorn. Bring your own lawn chair. A big end-of-season thank you to all our wonderful sponsors, including major contributions from Brandon Area Chamber of Commerce ~ Nifty Thrifty ~ Casella ~ Lake Sunapee Bank ~ Omya ~ Olya & Seth Hopkins ~ New England Woodcraft ~ Olivia's Croutons ~ Naylor & Breen Builders ~ Foley Brothers Brewing ~ National Bank of Middlebury ~ Brandon Inn (venue) ~ Celebration Rentals (stage) ~ Courtney Satz (graphic design)
