Free intro class.

It is easy to get lost in thoughts and worries that lead to stress and anxiety. When that happens, we sometimes resort to harmful habits in an attempt to cope with those feelings. We eat too much, we choose unhealthy food, we skip meals or we stop listening to what our body is really telling us.

Fortunately, there are ways to nurture levelness and tranquility. A steady mindfulness practice is the answer to dealing with uncomfortable and recurrent tension.

Mindfulness is a learned skill. Its practice allows individuals to develop self awareness. Mindfulness can be applied to every area of daily living. It can help decrease symptoms of anxiety and chronic pain. It can also instill a sense of well being, deep empathy and spirituality.

We will pay special attention to the positive impact that mindfulness can have on our relationship with food. It is an ideal tool to manage addictive dietary behaviors. No more calorie counting, crash dieting or fear of food. Through practice we can develop resilience and serenity as antidotes to disordered eating.

Join psychotherapist Jane Shustin and nutritionist Cristina Clarimon-Alinder for Mindfulness for Intentional Living, a six week seminar that focuses on stress reduction and averting mindless eating. Come explore the power of sorting out emotions, habits and beliefs that disrupt the body and mind connection.
