Sheldon Uncorked – an Evening of Wine, Hors d’oeuvres and Curiosities
Sunday, September 10, 5-7 p.m.
The Sheldon Museum of Vermont History presents "Sheldon Uncorked," an evening of wine, hors d'oeuvres, and historic curiosities, and offering attendees chances to win fine bottles of wine. The wines range from bold Cabernets and buttery Chardonnays to refreshing Pinot Grigios and many others in between. The event will take place at the Museum on Sunday, September 10 from 5-7 p.m., and proceeds benefit the Sheldon’s exhibits, collections, and archives. All bottles of wine are worth at least $25 or more, with some bottles valued at over $70. Tickets are $50 per person and, once at the event, numbered corks are for sale for $25 each or 5 for $100. Each cork number will correspond to a number on a wine bottle, and the bottle of wine will go to the cork holder with the corresponding number. Also that evening, take a look at some of the curiosities from the Sheldon’s collection that are rarely seen – on view for one night only – including a few of Henry Sheldon’s original teeth, the celebrated stuffed cat “Slippers,” an adult cradle, and a Walrus skull!
