Hinesburg Select Board Public Hearing - Town Plan - August 31, Thursday, 7pm - Town Office (main hall - Route 116 level)

After 3+ years of work, the proposed new Town Plan is ready for adoption. Before adoption, the Select Board will hold two public hearings to get any final public comments. First hearing - August 31, 7pm. Second hearing - September 25 (may change depending on feedback received at the first hearing). You can find the proposed Town Plan and its associated maps and appendices on the Town website at http://www.hinesburg.org/townplan. Contact the Planning & Zoning Office if you'd like a hard copy - we're happy to get you one.

The Planning Commission's Town Plan proposal was finalized and delivered to the Select Board in February. Through July, the Select Board reviewed and edited the proposed plan. This is a complete rewrite of the plan based on nearly three years of work, including multiple public surveys, a series of four community forums with invited speakers on key topics, countless Planning Commission meetings, and a formal public hearing on November 9, 2016. Substantial public feedback was received in association with the public hearing, including a review by staff at the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission. The Planning Commission spent two months (five meetings) discussing every public comment, and making numerous revisions based on those discussions.
