Intro to QiGong: Wednesday, September 13, 1:00-3:00 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Bennington, 108 School Street, Bennington. Qigong is a 7000 year old healing method that anyone can do to heal self and/or heal others. Qigong can be done sitting, standing or lying down. It is based on energy movement and blockages in the body. The instructor, Tracy Purdy-Martin, will explain all about it, and then we will do some. She will explain how to heal others and will also lead a meditation for healing.
Tracy is an American Council on Exercise personal trainer and a Spring Forest Qigong Practice Leader. She specializes in keeping people (and herself) young and moving. This involves balance (physical and spiritual), strengthening, movement, stress reduction, weight management, pain management. She seeks to find what a group (or individual) wants or needs to improve their quality of life and adapts the sessions to those concerns.
The event is free, but registration is required to ensure enough materials and seating. Participation is open to people with disabilities, their caregivers and allies. Light refreshments provided. Wear comfortable clothes. This is a chemical- and scent-free event.
