This annual potluck fundraiser reconnects our neighbors, families and new and old friends from near and far.
This year, we have a few new twists to the Picnic.
• Our new basketball goal systems will be installed in time to enjoy.
• A new theme for our potluck event, “Our Food Heritage.” We are asking people to bring their favorite family dish and also, if you know, to share the origin of your dish. Email Erica @ Hurdof3@hotmail.com and we will provide flags to place in the dishes. There will also be some blank flags if you would like to create your own. Currently we are excited to have food commitments with origins in China, Korea, Germany, Italy, England, Scotland, Ukraine and Mexico just to name a few. There will also be an educational space along the basketball court to learn about the origination of the flags created.
• Energy Fair, organized by the Planning Commission, where you can ask the experts, from Green Mountain Power, Efficiency VT, Catamount Solar as well as pick up information provided by Heat Squad at Neighborworks, about your alternative energy needs.
• Seeking Pittsfield Artists and Artisans to exhibit their work or photos of their work created in Pittsfield in the Pittsfield Town Office and Library hallways from early September thru December. This will be a wonderful way to share your talent and enthusiasm with the community. For more information email pittsfieldvtart@gmail.com or call Betty Warner at 802-729-2772.
