For everyone trying to figure out the character of the growth of the far right in the U.S. and what we have to do differently to stop it, there is a important meeting this week to discuss these issues:
Burlington International Socialist Organization
Lessons from Charlottesville: How we fight and defeat Fascism.
Thursday, August 17th, 7pm
Lafayette Hall room 210,
UVM Central Campus, 94 University Place Burlington

Join us for a discussion on the tragic events in Charlottesville and how we can defeat fascism while struggling for a socialist future.
When right wing thugs in Charlottesville feel free to harass and murder, the need for solidarity and and activism against the far right could not be more urgent.
The far right is bigger and more lethal than at any time in decades.
Fascists are attempting to turn the rightward swing in U.S. politics to market themselves as mainstream.
From worker defense guards in the 1930's to the Deacons for Defense and other self defense organizations in the civil rights movement of the 1960's. the U.S. left has a long history of resisting right wing violence.
Key to a successful strategy is the broadest possible protests and mass actions to confront the far right wherever it raises its head.
