Join the Vermont Sierra Club and the Ripton Conservation Commission as we hike and explore the Abbey Pond and associated wetland complex. This will be a moderate hike with an elevation gain of ~1200 ft. We will be joined by a District Wetland Ecologist who will tell us more about the ecology and history of where we will be hiking! This experience will include cascading streams, views of the Champlain Valley and Abbey Pond, which supports a community of marsh animals and plants. Plan on a 3-4 hour outing, and bring a packed lunch if you'd like! The trails may be a bit muddy, so wear appropriate hiking boots/shoes.
