“100 Years of Celebrating Life Through Creativity and Art” will be the theme of Island Arts last summer concert at the beautiful Grand Isle Lake House on the shores of Lake Champlain. The event, to raise funds for the IA Youth Scholarship Fund, is co-sponsored by the Silver Dove Institute with a BBQ hosted by the Grand Isle VFW. Doors open for picnicking at 5:30pm with the show at 6:30 on Sunday August 20.

Performing will be South Hero’s own Lucia Bird Matarazzo, recipient of the 2017 Priscilla Rose Scholarship for her outstanding creativity and talent in the area of dance. Also performing will be Otis Cleveland on flute, Regina Christianson on harp, the Jerome Monachino Jazz Quartet with select members of the U.S. 40th Army Band and poetry readings by Carol Fournier.

No need to bring a picnic as the Grand Isle VFW will have BBQ available for purchase, so just bring chairs and blankets to enjoy music and dance while watching the sunset over Lake Champlain. Tickets for the concert are $20 at the door and can be purchased in advance for $15, see islandarts.org for locations. Children under 12 are admitted free.
