George Perkins Marsh and Climate Change

Past event
Aug 24, 2017, 7 to 8:30 PM

Over the past 250 years, Vermont has seen periods of intense deforestation and subsequent reforestation. Parallel with such dramatic land changes, we have experienced a significant evolution in our own understanding and appreciation of the Northern Forest. Come join John Elder (Professor Emeritus, Middlebury College) for a reflection on the pertinence of pioneering Vermont conservationist George Perkins Marsh to the ecological challenges of our own day, with a specific focus on climate change.

All are welcome and the event is free!
