Valerie Capels (the Waistfield Town Administrator) confirmed that the Selectboard is meeting on Monday, August 14, and the Conservation Commission’s Austin invasive management project will be on the agenda. The meeting begins at 6:30pm and the order of agenda items has not been finalized yet. When finalized, it will be posted at:http://waitsfieldvt.us/agendas-minutes/#selectboard.

Please share on the other town forums and pass this news on to all your friends in the Valley who would like to attend! This is extremely important because alternative management options will be discussed and they may be deciding what to do with the knotweed (and other invasives) at this meeting! Remember, if they start spraying Polaris and Rodeo, and by some miracle it seems to be working, this will set the precedent for how to deal with this issue all around the Valley! It may be a small parcel now but this could grow into an issue where our entire Valley is getting routinely sprayed with chemicals!

We don't need to find out the real dangers of these chemicals 20-30 years down the line when it is too late to stop it! Act now! Thank you for being such a wonderful community who cares about these issues!
