- Sarah Craig, Caffe Lena (Saratoga Springs, NY)
“Jake Brillhart is a young, talented fiddler whose playing is expressive and captivating. These qualities are readily apparent in the texture and highlights he brings to the songs of Alex Smith, his long-time friend. If you have the opportunity to catch them in concert, you’ll hear songs that will grab your attention and some amazing playing and singing. A duo not to be missed!.”
- Mike Alzo, North Country Public Radio (Canton, NY)
"Alex Smith's songs blend the best of down-to-earth, authentic stories with an honest style and performance that engages from start to finish. See him soon- Alex Smith is the real thing!"
- Chuck Honnet, Nine Athens Music (Boston, MA)
"With a voice as deep and dark as an Irish Stout, and acoustic arrangements that wind and curve as if following the course and contour of a river, Alex Smith exemplifies our cultural ideal of what a folk singer should be."
