On this Sunday, August 13th, the Vermont Philharmonic and Music Director Lou Kosma, will hold its annual outdoor Summer Pops Concert at Moose Meadow Lodge in Duxbury. This year’s performance will consist of Broadway medleys, old favorites and patriotic standards, and will include special guest artist, Anthony Laciura. Tickets are available at the gate: $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $5 for students. In case of inclement weather the concert will be held at the Thatcher Brook Primary School in Waterbury. For more information, see the Philharmonic’s website at www.vermontphilharmonic.org.
Anthony Laciura is known internationally for his work as an operatic tenor, and more recently as ‘Eddie Kessler’ on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire. Mr. Laciura has appeared with the Metropolitan Opera Company in more than 800 performances and has recently wrapped up his fourth season on the acclaimed series Boardwalk Empire.
Moose Meadow opens for picnicking at 3:00 pm, and the concert starts at 4:00 pm. Parking at Moose Meadow Lodge is limited, so carpooling is recommended. This annual performance has become very popular over the years, so early arrival is also recommended in order to find your spot.
