As Historian for the Charlotte Congregational Church I would like to invite you to our celebration this Sunday. If you have an interest in local history I think you will enjoy the event. You will learn about challenges we have faced from geography to wars. We will serve root beer floats and homemade cookies. The minister's office will be turned into a museum with things you have not seen before, everything from plaster when the ceiling fell down in 1983 to tools used for the original masonry work on the Church building in 1849. From more recent times, we have on display some "Polly's pets". Favorite hymns will be sung. Feel free to wear items that have been in your family. You may see a number of women wearing hats and white gloves and men wearing suspenders or vintage Hawaiian shirts. If an article of clothing has a story, wear it.
