75th Anniversary of “Runaway Bunny” by Margaret Wise Brown and Clement Hurd – Saturday August 19th, 11 am.
This much beloved classic about a bunny and his mother was created 75 years ago this year. We celebrate with a very special storytime by Clement Hurd’s son, Thacher Hurd. Clement and his wife, Edith Thacher Hurd, chose Starksboro as their home, were inspired in their art by the beautiful landscape and are buried here. Their son, Thacher Hurd, is also an renowned children’s book author and artist and he will share some thoughts on the family’s Starksboro story.
