Free Rain Garden Tour

How can you beautify your yard, increase your property value, and protect the local water quality at the same time? Consider planting a rain garden! By helping rain and snow-melt to slow down, spread out, and soak into the soil, you can keep your surrounding lawn greener, divert excess water to an attractive area designed to help it infiltrate rather than run off, and draw pollinators to the blooms of gorgeous native flowers.

As part of the governor’s Clean Water Week, come on Tuesday, August 22nd to a free visit to a successful rain garden installed in June 2016 by volunteers of the Black River Action Team to learn how we did it, why we did it, and how it’s doing. From 5-6 PM, chat with BRAT Director Kelly Stettner and homeowner Meg Stern, pick up a copy of the Vermont Rain Garden Manual, and see for yourself how low maintenance and lovely a simple rain garden can be.

That’s August 22nd from 5-6 PM at #11 Meadow Drive in Springfield, Vermont.

Learn more at www.BlackRiverActionTeam.org, or contact BRAT directly via email at blackrivercleanup@gmail.com or leave a message at (802) 738-0456.
