The Waterbury Dam, constructed primarily for flood control, is a Roosevelt-era relic that evolved into a renewable energy source and a highly popular recreation destination. Tour is hosted by State Dam Safety Engineer Ben Green and Jeff Crocker of the Rivers Management Program. The tour is a great a way for the curious to get a glimpse of daily dam operations and understand how the federal 401 Water Quality Certification improves water quality up-stream and down-stream from the dam.
