Dear Neighbors - The City Council meets once in July and once in August. This Monday, the City Council will convene its one meeting for the month of August. Prior to the Council meeting, we will convene a brief meeting of the Local Control Commission at 7pm in Contois Auditorium in City Hall. The Council meeting is scheduled to begin immediately thereafter.

Following the approval of two indoor entertainment permits, the Council will vote to confirm Norman Baldwin as the City Engineer and Surveyor. We will then hold a public comment period on Redistricting.

We will hear annual reports from the Chairs of the Church Street Marketplace Commission , the Fire Commission, and the Police Commission.

We will have a presentation from Mark Larson, the Commissioner of the Department of Vermont Health Access.

We will be voting to refer to the Ordinance Committee two proposed ordinances; one on historic building materials and the other on adaptive reuse and residential bonuses.

We have three resolutions before us on Monday evening. The first concerns a Burlington Telecom reorganization and the second is regarding a Retirement Summit to discuss the underfunding of the City's Pension Plan and to explore options to address the unfunded liability. Our last resolution is about City Council priorities for the coming year.

We will have council committee reports, comments from councilors and the Mayor. Please keep in mind that you are welcome to come to a council meeting and speak to the Council on any subject you wish during our Public Forum which begins at 7:30pm.

Clickable agenda items can be found on the City's website:
