Craftsbury Common summer resident Merrill Leffler, founder and publisher of Dryad Press, is giving a talk on independent publishing at the Greensboro United Church on Wednesday, August 9. Merrill will talk about his experiences leading the press, and how independent literary publishing is essential to the vitality of American culture. The program begins at 7:30.
The press, based in Maryland, has thrived since the 1970’s, publishing books of poetry, fiction, memoir and translations. Copies of selected books will be on view. This fall, Dryad Press will publish Good Fortune Next Time by Will Wootton, past president of Sterling College. See the website at www.DryadPress.com.
