A Village Harmony chorus of 23 talented young musicians and three professional directors will sing, play, and dance at the Barnet Village Church on Friday, August 11, at 7:30 pm.
For the past 27 summers, Village Harmony has brought hundreds of talented teen singers together from across the United States and abroad to tour New England and stretch musical boundaries with songs and dances from many different times and places.
The ensemble appearing in Barnet is led by three outstanding directors: Suzannah Park specializes in traditional Appalachian songs, sea shanties, gospel songs, and Appalachian clogging. Carl Linich brings songs from the Republic of Georgia, including wedding songs, work songs, heroic songs, and sacred hymns. Nadia Tarnawsky’s expertise is with songs from Ukraine and the Balkans.
Suggested admission is $10, students $5, at the door or in advance through Catamount Arts.
