Inspired by Emily Art Show

Past event
Dec 7, 2013, 4 to 8 PM

In December 2012, Emily Lyman died from leukemia. She fought the disease and its side effects for 13 years, yet she refused to define herself by the disease. Instead she chose to live a life of determination and strength that had an influence on everyone she met.

After reading Emily's poems and other writings, individuals from far and near have been inspired to create something visual to accompany their favorite piece. What began as a small project to form Emily's legacy, has transformed into a huge event - exactly what she would have wanted.

One of the last lines Emily stated before dying was, "Please do something to make me famous." Well Emily, here it is!

Please join us as we celebrate the union of Emily's words and the artwork of over 200 people.

This is a free event welcome to people of all ages. We will be making Emily themed Christmas tree decorations to cover a tree that we be donated to the Ronald McDonald house in memory of Emily.
