Hello, Neighbors!

In one month we will be hosting the 2nd Annual Tiny House Fest Vermont here in Brattleboro. The Fest has Tiny Houses as a focus that brings us to together in meaningful conversations and information sharing around attainable housing. This year I have expanded our programming to include considerations around our public spaces and how they reflect the rich composition and diverse needs of our community. As we look at downsizing our individual impact on our planet, how do we improve the common spaces we share, so that greater connection and sense of place can be inspired. I am deeply inspired by the mobile designs that will be featured in the Pop-Up Tiny House Village. Alongside some beautifully designed Tiny Houses, we will have examples of mobile performance and exhibition spaces, and other kinds of venues that reach out to bring programming directly into our neighborhoods. A few youth groups this year will be installing Parklets (temporary mini park in a parking spot) along Flat Street, demonstrating the kinds of public spaces they would like to see in Brattleboro's future. Please come and talk with our youth about their design ideas. Expert presentations will fill two stages this year. Check out the website over the next week to see the final schedule. Last year the MakerSpace in the River Gallery School was a huge hit. This year we have 4 schools joining super powers to host a huge pop-up MakerSpace on the ground level of the brick building in the middle of the Fest campus on Flat Street.

This year you have more choices for participation. Choose the Fest Pass that suits your interest. If you purchase your Pass in advance online, there is savings, plus we can better plan for the crowd. Last year we were happily shocked by the number of Fest goers. Below is a guide to the Passes Know that you can upgrade at the Fest if you decide to do more, but also note that their are a limited number of LEARN + ADVENTURE Passes and we sold out before the Fest last year.

Please reach out on our facebook page if you have questions. Hope to see you downtown on Labor Day Weekend!

All the best,
Erin Maile O'Keefe, co-founder Tiny House Fest Vermont
