This week's film is Billy Wilder's the Seven Year Itch (1955)—Richard Sherman (Tom Ewell) has been married for seven years and can't be more excited for his wife and kids to go on summer holiday without him. He'll finally have the house to himself, he can have two scotches without catching an awkward glance . . . except from the beautiful and ditzy blonde (Marilyn Monroe) who lives right above him. This film blends low-fantasy with romantic comedy and contains one of the most iconic images in film history (Monroe in a white dress over the vent . . . you know the one).
