Local Artists Exhibit at Fletcher Library

Past event
Aug 2, 10 AM to 6 PM, Aug 8, 2017

A local Art Group, FOMAH ( From Our Minds and Hearts), will present an exhibition of their art at Fletcher Free Library, opening August 2 in the Fletcher Room.

There will be a free reception 2:00-5:00 pm on Sunday, August 6, with art, music, and refreshments, an opportunity to meet the artists and writers.

The show is a tribute to senior watercolorist Dorothy Perry, a Vermont folk artist who started painting in her 70s, and is in her 90s today. Unframed paintings are available for purchase and can be taken home the same day. All proceeds from the sale of Perry’s work go to the Fletcher Free Library.

FOMAH artists featured in the show include Deni Bergne, Julia Boynton, Cynthia Close, Susan DeClue, Nancy Ellis, Joyce Reddy-Bradbee, Karl Sklar, Claudia Stoeffler, Lea Terhune, Pam Valance, Mary Western, Margy Zabriskie and Sandy Zabriskie. Among the arts presented are painting, photography, writing, bead/fiber jewelry, and stained glass. Many are available for sale.

On Wednesday, August 9, 6:30-8:00 pm, and Saturday, August 26, 3;00-4:30 pm, Cynthia Close and members of the Burlington Writer's Workshop will read selections from their recent original works of prose and poetry.

The exhibition is open August 2-31, upstairs in the Fletcher Room, during library hours. http://www.fletcherfree.org/about.html#Hours
