Join 350Vermont on Thursday night from 6-8pm at the Burlington CoHousing Community (27 E. Village Drive) for a dinner and discussion. We’re inviting secular climate activists, religious folks of all backgrounds, and everyone in between to chat about colonialism, religion, and environmental degradation. How has religion been used to justify colonialism and the destruction of the earth? How can it inspire people to defend their communities, both human and ecological? No prior knowledge required! Over a homemade meal, we’ll learn, build relationships, and share our own perspectives.
The event is free, but we request that you make a donation to support resistance to the Bayou Bride Pipeline (BBP) in Louisiana, a 162-mile crude oil pipeline proposed by Energy Transfer Partners (ETP), the operators of the Dakota Access Pipeline. The pipeline would threaten indigenous people of the United Houma Nation, sensitive bayou ecosystems, and the entire Louisiana coast.
Please share - event is open to all!
