It is hard to believe that summer is half over and that the Artist in Residence Gallery at 10 South Main Street, St Albans is preparing to host its eighth reception this year on Thursday, August 3rd from 4:30 - 7 pm. Our featured artists will make brief presentations and light refreshments will be enjoyed by all. Our featured artists are:
Anne Standish's roots are in sewing and quilting. Her complex and detailed Art Quilts feature representational images of real places, created with fabric, photographs printed onto fabric, threads, and paint. Anne is an award-winning artist and a new member of the gallery’
Terry Buehner has created jewelry for 20 years. Each piece is one of a kind and is based on a unique story. Terry’s media include polymer clay, wire, wet and needle felting, driftwood, stones, and repurposed items such as fabric, bicycle parts and vintage beads.
Meta Strick creates mixed media figurative art using wood, paint, wire, found objects and textiles. Her Art Dolls and multilayered paintings tell stories and suggest concepts to the viewer. She is a life long artist who continues to explore and learn about materials and processes.
