On Saturday, July 29th at the Twin Valley Senior Center Flea Market George Springston will be having his fourth annual tool sale. The Twin Valley Senior Center is at 4583 US Rte. 2, East Montpelier. George has good selection of used woodworking and metalworking hand tools, including planes, hand saws, chisels, 2-sided waterstones, combination squares, bevel squares, hatchets (broad and carpenter’s), drawknives, spoke shaves, braces, bits, electric and non-electric hand drills, extra-long drill bits, clamps, vises, 50 and 100 foot tapes, calipers and micrometers and other layout tools, hammers, snips, wrenches, breaker bar & sockets, a few blacksmithing tools, crow bars, heavy iron bar, etc. These are high-quality older tools from Stanley, Millers Falls, Lufkin, K&E, Pexto, Craftsman, Starrett, Brown & Sharpe, etc. They are mostly user-grade rather than collectors' items, but there's little or no junk (except maybe a Central tap& die set that looks pretty lightweight).
Planes: block, smooth, jack, jointer, fillister/rabbet, shoulder rabbet, combination (Stanley no. 45) and scraper planes. Chisels: Stanley no. 60 butt chisels, several socket chisels, & a small set of carving chisels. Vises: small woodworking vise, small bench vise, and a chain pipe vise.
