Greatest Generation Film Screening of Film Noir Class

Past event
Aug 9, 2017, 2 to 4 PM

The Manchester Community Library's Greatest Generation Film Series will screen a 1946 classic film noir, starring Rita Hayworth and Glenn Ford. The film was well received by critics and is best remembered for its lush photography and for the scene where Hayworth, as “Gilda,” sings “Put the Blame on Me.” The story is a complex and cynical tale in keeping with the prevailing post war US political paranoia of German Nazi criminals who escaped to South America and assumed new identities.

The film screening is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
Manchester Community Library is located at 138 Cemetery Avenue in Manchester Center, VT. Information: 802-362-2607.
