Join us for a special evening in the town of Waterbury on August 3rd from 3pm - 6:30pm. Farm and food vendors from all across Vermont will be set up on the Horseshow Lawn in front of the State Complex in Waterbury for a celebration of all things local. Come mix and mingle with local producers, get a taste of summer during the BBQ cook-off, find more great local producers, live music, and enter raffles for great local prizes at the Waterbury Farmers’ Market across the street, and learn all about the many wonderful programs offered by VAAFM and our partners.

Coinciding with the United States Department of Agriculture’s 18th annual National Farmers Market Week, the Summer Buy Local Market returns for its third year, bigger and better than ever to Montpelier on August 9th from 3pm to 6:30pm. Montpelier residents, visitors and employees are invited for this exceptional opportunity to support Vermont suppliers of local food and agricultural products at a mid-week market on the State House Lawn. Get ready to shop for your weekly groceries, sample and purchase Vermont cider, mead and spirits, and you don’t want to miss special performances by The Hokum Bros and Farm to Ballet!

With the success of the Summer Buy Local Markets, we are pleased to introduce a second opportunity in Montpelier to experience the diversity, quality and freshness of the Capitol City weekend farmers’ market on a weekday. Join us again to celebrate local foods and agricultural goods on the Statehouse Lawn, this time during peak fall foliage season on October 4th from 11am-2pm! Get ready to shop for your weekly groceries, grab lunch, sample and purchase Vermont cider, mead and spirits, enjoy live music from the Agency of Agriculture staff, and watch your colleagues join in friendly competition in fun, farming-inspired challenges on the Vermont State House lawn!!
Organized by the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets as part of the State’s Local Food Wellness and Consumer Awareness Initiative to help provide consumers with an ideal occasion to taste, learn about, and buy Vermont agricultural products from across Vermont. We are thankful to Hunger Mountain
Co-op for sponsoring the entertainment and to our many partnerships that help make this event possible from the Vermont Buildings and General Services, Agency of Administration, Capital City Farmers’ Market, Waterbury Farmers’ Market, Barre Farmers’ Market, the Vermont Farmers’ Market Association and the Northeast Organic Farming Association of Vermont.
These markets will feature over 40 local organizations and Vermont farmers and producers of local cheese, meat, fruits and vegetables, milk, maple syrup, jams, culinary oils, honey, wine, beer, spirits, wool, and handmade crafts as well as ready-to-eat prepared foods and more!
