Come celebrate the amazing gardens we have created here over the last 44 years! And visit the idyllic homestead we will be selling next year as we build a new home (and garden🌻) closer to the village.
The house is full of cozy and warmth. It is an 1825 house sturdily nestled in to a hill, supported by magnificent beams and 3" thick spruce plank walls. Wood stoves heat the house and the water with an oil furnace for those occasions of travelling and quick heat on a chilly summer morn. Solar panels provide electricity for a wide range of appliances.
The gardens flow out from the house in an array of asparagus, raspberries, delphinium and all her many perennial friends. Blueberries and rhubarb, a chicken hotel and sugarhouse add their charm and usefulness.
There are speciman evergreens- weeping, prostrate, upright- to make any gardener/botanist weak in the knees. Magnolias and dwarf maples, brilliant day lilies, hostas spreading under the pines adorn the hillside above a water lily festooned pond.
The icing on the cake, the crowning glory of charm: a brook sings its way from the pond, through the yard and under Wayne-made bridges.
We will be so glad to see you here! Bring your lunch if you wish (:
