The Varnum Memorial Library is hosting a genealogy workshop, led by Patty Genadio on Saturday, August 12, 3-5pm. If you will be attending, please read below what you should bring with you.
Attendees:
Before the workshop:
Write at least a paragraph or two about yourself and your family:
Start with yourself, and work back from there.
Include names, events (birth, marriage, death, etc.), date, and places.
Include family relationships (parents, siblings, grandparents, etc.)
Optional: Identify at least one specific research objective (for example, your great-grandmother’s maiden name, or your grandfather’s birthplace).
Bring to the workshop:
Your family write-up.
Something for taking notes.
Optional: A few pertinent family records for yourself, your parents, and your grandparents.
We’ll work on: pedigree charts, family group sheets, and research plans.
