In the wake of Snowden's exposure of government mass surveillance programs, are we right to worry about our own privacy? Our smartphones always know exactly where we are -- and so do advertisers, phone-service providers, friends and employers. The many social networks we share also share much information about us. At the same time, they promote community building and provide needed information instantly. John Van Hoesen, a geoscientist at Green Mountain College, will present alternative perspectives on our hyper connected world.
