Art on Main is pleased to welcome Vermont poets Karin Gottshall and Alison Prine to the gallery this Friday, July 21st for a reading at 6:30. Theirs will be the first in the Written Word Out Loud series. The readings will be followed by light refreshments and a chance for conversation.
Karin Gottshall teaches at Middlebury College and directs the annual New England Young Writers’ Conference. Her most recent book is The River Won’t Hold You from the Ohio State University Press. Her poems have appeared in Crazyhorse, FIELD and the New England Review among many other journals.
Alison Prine’s debut collection of poems, Steel, which was released in 2016, won the Cider House Press Review Book Award. Her poems have appeared in The Virginia Quarterly Review, Shenandoah, Green Mountain Review, Field and Prairie Schooner among others. She lives in Burlington Vermont where she works as a psychotherapist.
Later events in the series will include Bristol’s South Street Writers’ Cooperative reading on September 8 and on October 20 Waterways a poetic exploration of New Hampshire’s waterways by William O’Daly, poet and translator of eight books of the poetry of Chilean Nobel laureate Pablo Neruda published by Copper Canyon Press and JS Graustein, biologist and editor in Chief of the Folded Word press.
The reading is free and open to the public. Supported by Vermont Arts 2017, Vermont Arts Council.
