Accessibility Tour of Downtown Rutland

Past event
Jul 26, 2017, 3 to 5 PM

Help us celebrate the 27th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Join City of Rutland community leaders and other residents and spend an hour touring part of downtown Rutland City to get a sense of accessibility issues facing people with disabilities as well as areas where positive improvements have been made. If you don't currently use a wheelchair, you have the option of experiencing the route by using one of the manual wheelchairs that will be available. The tour will begin and end at the Rutland office of the Vermont Center for Independent Living (VCIL), 60 Center Street, Suite 1, Rutland. This event is being organized by VCIL and Disabled Access & Advocacy of the Rutland Area (DAARA). Light refreshments will be available at the end of the tour. Please contact us before Friday, July 21 if you would like to participate but need a sign language interpreter.
