In association with the Stowe Jewish Film Festival, Hadassah presents the acclaimed documentary "Doing Jewish: A Story from Ghana" which chronicles the lives of the Jews of Sefwi Wiawso and their attempts to connect with the millions of Jews worldwide. The film, which explores a surprising connection between the director and this tiny Jewish community in a remote spot in Africa, is not only an examination of the human desire for connection viewed from a Jewish perspective, it boasts an interactive village on its website where viewers can ‘meet’ members of the Jewish community in Ghana and tour the village online. This tour, which includes interviews, photos and 360 degree tours of important locations, doesn’t just introduce a person like Florence, it gives her prized recipe for banku and lets her talk to you, right from her home in Sewfi Wiawso, Ghana. Watch the trailer and tour the interactive village at www.doingjewishthefilm.com
Thurs July 20th at 7 pm at JCOGS, 1189 Cape Cod Rd. Stowe. For more information: bit.ly/doingjewishstowe
