Tuesdays, August 8, 15, and 22, from 6-8pm, How to Talk with Kids about Racism at Richmond Free Library, 201 Bridge Street, Richmond. Talkingabout race and racism can be difficult -- especially with children. But that does not mean we shouldn't have these conversations. This discussion group addresses the impact of racism and white privilege on our children. It is designed to help adults (and young adults) discuss these issues with children in a meaningful and age-appropriate way. It includes resources, discussion, and role playing. This discussion group is guided by Isaiah Hines and Jade Walker. Participants are expected to attend all three discussion group sessions. The cost is $75 per person with a 20% discount for Peace & Justice Center members. People age 24 and younger are not expected to contribute financially. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
