The Chelsea Funnery Presents Hamlet in Tunbridge

In only two weeks of working together, student actors, aged 12-18 from the Chelsea area and beyond, will present audiences with a highly physical production of Shakespeare’s Hamlet: Ghosts! Revenge! Ennui! Suspicion! Comedy! Students create a captivating, heartfelt and even funny portrayal of Shakespeare’s epic, all without sets or shoes!

Performances will be July 21st at 6 p.m. and July 22nd at 5 p.m. at The Tunbridge School on Route 110. Rain location is at the Chelsea Town Hall. The “Get Thee To The Funnery” Shakespeare Program in Chelsea, Vermont, is a two-week summer theater immersion program. Originally founded in 2001 the program is run by Sophie Wood, Kailie Larkin and a talented staff of Teaching Artists.

Our mission at The Chelsea Funnery is to offer an affordable summer enrichment program to encourage positive use of time, creativity, energy, healthy community engagement, and to support youth empowerment, self esteem and team building in the Chelsea-Tunbridge area. We accept any student regardless of their ability to pay. The program emphasizes community, creativity, and taking personal and creative risks while working with each student to develop their personal style and skill set at their own pace and level.
