Guilford Cares invites Seniors to take a walk on the Weeks Forest Carriage Trail on Tuesday, July 25 at 11:00 a.m. (Rain date Thursday, 7/27 at 11:00 a.m.).
Our Fall walks were great fun last year. We want to do it again in July to enjoy the babbling of the Broad Brook and its surrounding greenery.
The trail head is on Carpenter Hill Road, across from the one-room schoolhouse a short distance past the library.
Karen Murphy, back by popular demand, will serve as our guide. Karen is a member of the Conservation Commission. She will share her extensive knowledge of the history, geology and flora and fauna along the trail.
The Weeks Forest Carriage Trail is short, smooth, shaded and level. It is an "out and back" trail, 0.4 mile to the end and 0.4 mile back. There are benches along the trail for resting and enjoying the scenery. Water and snacks will be available. Companions will be prepared to stay with seniors who require a slower pace or shorter distance.
Feel free to call Guilford Cares with any questions: 579-1350. Parking will be available at the trail head or the library. We will drive folks to the trail head from the library.
