"What was it like to celebrate Christmas during the Civil War?"

Essex Community Historical Society presents stories of a Civil War Christmas from Marietta Phifer -- as presented by her great-great niece, Karen Mayer, in period costume -- this Saturday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. in the Kolvoord Room at Brownell Library, Essex Junction.

Admission is free. Refreshments will be served.
