Essex Rotary to Hear Abt Adverse Childhood Experiences

Past event
Jul 12, 2017, 12 to 1:30 PM

At the July 12th Rotary meeting, Dr. George Till from Jericho will talk about research on negative impacts of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and his efforts to adjust Vermont Social Service programs to reduce these negative outcomes. Dr. Till also serves in the Vermont House of Representatives.

When Dr. Till heard about the CDC’s Adverse Childhood Experiences Study last October, he had an epiphany that resulted in a seismic shift in how he saw the world. The result: H. 762, The Adverse Childhood Experience Questionnaire, the first bill in any state in the nation that calls for integrating screening for adverse childhood experiences in health services, and for integrating the science of adverse childhood experiences into medical and health school curricula and continuing education.
Essex Rotary welcomes guests at their noon lunch each Wednesday. Please contact Jeff Cabanaw at 802-922-7025 if you wish to attend. Lunch cost is $15.00
